Spotlighting KC Kye, Owner of K-Mama Sauce

K-Mama Sauce LLC is a thriving, Minnesota-based manufacturer of vegan Korean hot sauces, celebrated for its health-conscious ingredients, quality, and bold flavors. Established in early 2015, the business targets Asian and Korean food lovers, cooking enthusiasts, and anyone looking to spice up their meals. Owned by Kyung Chun Kye (KC), K-Mama Sauce is a business dedicated to sharing pieces of Korean culture with the world.

The company offers four core sauces—Mild, Spicy, Gluten-Free Mild, and Gluten-Free Spicy—and recently expanded its product line with a new flavor: The Hottest Sauce. These flavorful additions are part of a strategic growth plan supported by a loan from Neighborhood Development Center (NDC). The loan, provided through the Reposition Your Business loan product, supported the production of the new flavors and a rebranding effort.

NDC has a history of providing innovative loans to small business owners in order to find the right fit. This case was no different. The loan was unique and aimed to empower the successes of K-Mama. KC has worked with NDC in many capacities. He graduated from our Plan It! Program and received Technical Assistance from our teams to build out his marketing practices. We are honored to continue working with KC and are grateful for this partnership.

A former pastor and government worker himself, KC has continued to root his business in this community. 49% of the business equity is shared with his family and church friends.  Additionally, K-Mama donates 30% of its profit to local charities.

With its focus on new innovations, social impact, and high-quality products, K-Mama Sauce LLC continues to enhance grocer and retailer sales while making a difference in the communities it serves.

K-Mama products are sold in major retailers, including Lunds & Byerlys, Kowalski’s, and Target, as well as online through Amazon and the company website. Check out their site to learn more: https://kmamasauce.com/
