Shift: Standard Hours, with occasional weekends required
Compensation: $85,000 – $95,000/Annually

Job Summary
Neighborhood Development Center seeks a dynamic, seasoned real estate professional to lead multi-faceted work with and for neighborhood-based entrepreneurs in support of its mission. This position will lead new project development, support NDC’s existing real estate portfolio, and play a central role in expanding real estate services for emerging entrepreneurs and developers.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management – New Real Estate Development:
- Lead the advancement of NDC’s Real Estate Development including a new $25MM real estate project at the intersection of Chicago Avenue and Lake Street in partnership with the VP of Real Estate and the Development Team.
Consultation – Entrepreneur and Nonprofit Partner Projects:
- Expand NDC’s consultancy services to support emerging entrepreneurs, developers and nonprofit partners, achieving earned income and advancing NDC’s mission.
Problem Solving/Strategy – Existing Portfolio:
- Collaborate with the Senior Real Estate Asset Manager and team to solve portfolio challenges and strategize for mission-driven impact and financial sustainability.
Expansion and Capital Improvement Projects – Existing Portfolio:
- Support high-level expansion and capital improvement initiatives within NDC’s real estate portfolio in collaboration with the Senior Real Estate Asset Manager and VP of Real Estate.
Reporting to Board/Senior Leadership & Real Estate Board Management:
- Communicate NDC Real Estate activities to senior leadership and individual real estate boards, including NDC’s subsidiary, Neighborhood Commercial Spaces, LLC.
Support Real Estate Lending Expansion:
- Support the NDC Lending Department with analysis and underwriting of real estate financing deals.
Real Estate Grant Management:
- Manage local, state, and federal grant applications for project-specific funding, such as Met Council LCDA, TOD, and Environmental Clean-Up grants, including reporting requirements.
Other Duties as Assigned:
- The Senior Real Estate Program Manager will be expected to assist with other tasks and responsibilities as needed. These may include contributing to special projects, supporting team initiatives, or addressing emerging priorities outside the scope of the primary responsibilities listed above.
Qualifications
Experience:
- 5 – 7 years experience leading commercial real estate development projects or managing real estate
- Proven experience developing and managing pro formas for commercial real estate development projects
- Demonstrated success preparing applications for philanthropic/public funding and/or private financing
- Experience managing and facilitating government grant programs
- Experience preparing applications and submitting reports for government programs
- Experience and high level of competency working with diverse populations
- Strong experience working with entrepreneurs from underrepresented communities.
Skills:
- Advanced financial modeling and analysis skills, including pro forma development.
- Exceptional project management and organizational abilities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) and project management tools.
- Ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments with cultural sensitivity and adaptability.
Preferred:
- Experience working with executives.
- Experience working in community development or nonprofit settings.
- Familiarity with the challenges faced by neighborhood-based entrepreneurs.
- Fluency in a second language (Hmong, Somali, or Spanish) is a strong plus but not required.
- Certification in real estate development or project management is advantageous.
